Offering New Technology To Detect Melanoma

Siperstein Dermatology Group offers a group of Board-Certified dermatologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and licensed aestheticians who specialize in patient-centered dermatologic care.

Jennifer Richter, a Board-Certified Physician Assistant who has been at Siperstein Dermatology for five years, focuses on helping patients by using her medical expertise and advanced artificial intelligence to diagnose skin cancer at its earliest stages, before it becomes life-threatening.

Prior to working at Siperstein Dermatology Group, Jennifer worked in the Department of Dermatology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. She earned her Physician Assistant Degree and Master of Science from Cornell University. Jennifer has particular expertise in dermoscopy, a non-invasive technique, which uses a combination of magnification and light to detect skin cancer early and prevent unnecessary surgical procedures or biopsies. While at Memorial Sloan Kettering, she worked alongside international leaders in the dermatology and dermoscopy field.

“I joined Siperstein Dermatology Group because I loved how they prioritize the patient experience, making sure that each patient is provided with the best care and outcome possible. It is a place where patients are not just a number. They are truly treated like family. I immediately knew that people genuinely like to work there. With a culture that always puts the patient first, I continue to be amazed at how the practice continues to grow by investing in the latest technology and providing state-of-the-art procedures and services to our community,” said Jennifer.

She brings her advanced training and clinical experience working with patients with dysplastic nevus syndrome, melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and other complex skin cancers, in addition to those with a history of radiation therapy and chemotherapy. She also enjoys engaging in clinical research to keep current with advances in the field.

Siperstein Dermatology offers DermaGraphix Mole Mapping with AI Technology, which Jennifer is highly trained in using from her time at Memorial Sloan Kettering. DermaGraphix mole mapping and tracking analysis uses a high-resolution camera, advanced software, and whole-body photography to map a patient’s entire skin surface, creating a photographic baseline of his/her moles. At follow-up visits, artificial intelligence is then utilized to accurately identify any change in the size, color and shape of lesions, as well as document any new lesions.

DermaGraphix is the most innovative mole mapping system available, and it allows Jen to spot new moles more easily as well as track changes in patients’ existing moles, which is one of the possible early signs of melanoma. In addition, this system has an attached dermatoscope, which allows her to visualize and photo-graph individual moles using magnification and polarized light to better detect subtle changes in these moles and patterns that could be consistent with melanoma. Siperstein Dermatology Group is the only private practice in Florida to have DermaGraphix with Artificial Intelligence Technology, and they offer this option to patients at both offices in Boynton Beach and Boca Raton.

“In an effort to help all of our patients who are at high or low risk of developing melanoma, we’ve invested in the DermaGraphix Mole Mapping with Artificial Intelligence Tracking Analysis, which allows for the earlier detection and treatment of melanoma and helps to minimize unnecessary biopsies,” said Dr. Elizabeth Nestor.

“DermaGraphix is a total body photography system that we utilize regularly in our high-risk pigmented lesion clinic at Memorial Sloan Kettering. It was most helpful in detecting new moles and early changes in existing moles for those patients with numerous moles or personal history of melanoma. Artificial Intelligence Tracking Analysis is like having another set of eyes examine your moles, and I always say the more eyes the better. I feel so fortunate that we are able to offer this amazing technology to our patients in South Florida,” said Jennifer.

Jennifer is committed to providing the highest quality patient-centered care. She brings her warm personality and gentle approach to patients of all ages and diverse backgrounds. She is skilled in all aspects of medical and surgical dermatology, including a particular passion for and expertise in skin cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. She encourages all patients to undergo annual total body skin exams.
