HALLOWEEN IN DOWNTOWN DELRAY

While Delray might be most famously known for the 100-foot Christmas Tree or Fourth of July celebrations, I’d like to politely argue that no one, and that means no one, should sleep on the Halloween festivities. Halloween in Downtown Delray has become a Saturday full of scary fun opportunities, and you and your goblins should take part. The event begins at 7 a.m. with the 15th Annual Witches of Delray Ride, where you can either ride or watch hundreds of costumed witches take over downtown, followed by awards, entertainment, and festivities at Old School Square. The downtown shops open their doors and candy baskets at 11 a.m. for Trick-or-Treating on the Avenue, which is held until 1 p.m. After you get your fill, all participants are welcome to join in on the Halloween Parade and actually be part of the parade. Show off your costume as you make your way to Old School Square for Kidsfest, which features food, vendors, arts and crafts, entertainment, and more. Whether you’d like to be part of the fun, or just watch from the sidelines, it is surely a sight to see, and one that is fun for everyone. Halloween in Downtown Delray is held Saturday, October 24, so you’ll get to break in the Halloween outfit before the following weekend. Old School Square is located at 51 N. Swinton Ave. Please visit www.downtowndelraybeach.com or call (561) 243-1077 for more information.
