The Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (BBCRA) is excited to announce the return of its signature event, the Boynton Beach Haunted Pirate Fest & Mermaid Splash. The festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary in downtown Boynton Beach on Saturday, October 30, and Sunday, October 31, and will be open each day from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.
All ages are invited to the free event and enjoy a weekend of swashbuckling adventures. The event takes place along East Ocean Avenue, between Seacrest Boulevard and Federal High-way, into a bustling port reminiscent of the early 18th Century. Guests will be able to explore the festival and enjoy a variety of nonstop entertainment and interactive activities, including live music, stunt shows, cannon shootings, comedy acts, pirate encampments, a mermaid attraction, treasure hunts, children’s activities, and much more!
Interactive costumed characters and street performers will roam the streets to engage with attendees and pose for photo opportunities. All event-goers are encouraged to dress in pirate, mermaid, or other mythical costumes and immerse themselves into this year’s Halloween Haunt theme. The event will feature multiple costume contests for children and adults and a mermaid pageant.
The event will showcase a variety of retail, food, and service. Event patrons will be encouraged to participate in a treasure hunt that will take them on a journey through the festival.
This popular event has attracted over 60,000 visitors during the two-day weekend. To help safeguard the health and safety of everyone, the BBCRA will implement measures in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The event will feature a layout to allow for social distancing and there will be multiple hand sanitizing stations throughout the site. Event-goers will be encouraged to wear a mask or facial covering when they are unable to distance from others.
