You know when people say that it’s been a long week and it’s only Tuesday? That’s how 2026 has been, and it’s only August. So, let’s all take a big, long deep breath in and out, and slow down a bit.
August is National Wellness Month and since it’s too hot to go outside unless you’re in a pool, let’s get creative at the Arts Warehouse. Their new exhibition, “Of Nature and Spirit,” brings together four Florida-based artists whose vivid figurative paintings and sculptures celebrate the surreal. This plays perfectly into our general quest for wellness because spending time among nature lowers cortisol, reduces anxiety and restores mental clarity. If we can’t enjoy it fully outside, we might as well bring the wellness party inside. Throughout the exhibition, figures are seen intertwined both physically and spiritually with flora and fauna, so take your time and enjoy all the sights. You’re welcome to check out the exhibition during the First Friday Art Walk, held Friday, August 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. The event is free and family-friendly, and they’re even serving $6 beer and wine. If you haven’t been to the Arts Warehouse before, it boasts two stories of local artistic talent and is a perfect way to kick off your Friday night. Did I mention air conditioning? Arts Warehouse is located at 313 N.E. Third St. Please visit www.artswarehouse.org or call (561) 330-9614 for more information.
