‘Get Your Guac On’ Across South Florida

If you’re looking for a local restaurant that serves freshly made and customizable avocado-based dishes at affordable prices, Guaca Go is just the place. The Key Largo-born company has locations in West Palm, Boynton, and Delray Beach.

Most people see an avocado and think of guacamole as a side, but Amber Benjamin and Carson Bennett saw something bigger.

What began in 2016 as a roadside stand at a bar selling guacamole & chips has grown into Guaca Go, a thriving fast-casual build-your-own bowl restaurant that’s putting guacamole front and center. Now, with three locations and a menu that is steadily evolving, they’re proving that guac isn’t just extra—it’s the main course.

Guaca Go prides itself on being a friendly, efficient, healthy, and inclusive restaurant that serves its customers only the freshest ingredients. They offer a wide variety of proteins, toppings, and homemade sauces, including turmeric rice, sirloin steak, saucy chickpeas, and elote corn. Not only can you create your own bowl, but they also serve sandwiches, wraps, salads, and avocado toast.

“There have been a lot of customers that have absolutely loved what we did because they always recognized how fresh our food is,” Benjamin said. “They can tell we make everything from scratch. You know, when we make the guac in front of you, you see us opening fresh avocados in front of you.”

Prices for regular bowls range from $12 to $16, which is on the lower end compared to competitors, Benjamin says. Guaca Go also does not upcharge for their guacamole, and they differ in freshness quality from other build-your-own bowl concepts because they do not use seed oil — “and you can really taste the difference,” noted Kristen Mestre, an employee working at the Delray Beach location. She says she always feels great after having a meal from Guaca Go.

While many customers swing by Guaca Go during their lunch break or on the way home from the gym, there is plenty of seating both inside and out if you’re just looking for a peaceful spot to have a bite. In Delray, large windows cast natural light into the restaurant, featuring a wall design of a large avocado character floating on an innertube that reads “Born in the keys, living in Delray Beach.” Pink and green avocado wallpaper accents the back wall, and bright green chairs keep the avocado theme throughout the restaurant.
Guaca Go is locally grown and family-owned, so Benjamin and Bennett try to maintain a familial atmosphere. They want customers and staff alike to feel comfortable in their restaurants and to see people from all walks of life enjoy what they have to offer. Mestre began working at Guaca Go in Delray one month ago and says she feels at ease in this new work environment.

“I love it here. It’s so sweet, like everyone is so kind and really helpful,” Mestre said.
Benjamin and Bennett were living in Key Largo in 2016 when inspiration initially struck. Benjamin had returned from a local farmer’s market with a large Florida avocado, and Bennett made guacamole before serving it to her in the avocado shell. She knew right then and there they had something special.

They started as an event and catering company in 2016, selling their creations at sporting events, music festivals, and more. Three years later, the COVID pandemic shut them down just as they started to consider opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant. Still, they persisted.

Boynton Beach became home to Guaca Go’s first restaurant location in August 2020, followed by West Palm Beach and now Delray Beach as of June 2024. Benjamin says they are working to open their first franchise in the Tequesta/Jupiter area, as well.

“Ideally, we want to spread out across the U.S.,” Benjamin said. “…but our biggest thing is we never want to grow too fast, and we want to make sure that we’re taking the right steps.”

First-time customer Mike Love surely believes so. The Broward County resident travels to Delray Beach for work and decided to try Guaca Go based on some “outstanding reviews.” The restaurant exceeded his expectations with its fresh food, welcoming staff, and clean environment.

“I can see it going places,” said Love.

Guaca Go recently rolled out an updated menu including premium toppings, new sauces, and a new combo after 4 p.m. where customers can get chips, a cookie, and a drink for just $3 with any entree. You can also download the new Guaca Go mobile app for iOS and Android, released just last week, and receive reward points for every new order.
