Though some of the merchandise is rooted in fantasy it is artfully based in reality and steeped in creativity. That’s why most people call A Little Wyld their happy place.
And for good reason.
The walls, displays, and racks that surround this whimsical shop are filled with color, glitter, shine and common sense as their outer glory.
This panorama of good taste has its origins in owners Skye and Amanda. They search like historians for the newest and most creative designers whose sole purpose is to make clothing and accessories meet life’s most fulfilling passion – Joy.
Though they started out as a children’s boutique, the demand for clothing, home décor, novelty gift items and accessories for grown-ups is now part of the merchandise mix.
They also started selling wallpaper from UK based company Mil-ton & King. These eclectic yet fun wall coverings create spaces that speak volumes about the creative capabilities of wallpaper. “We have a lot of beautiful prints available, and we’ll have a swatch book. You can order your wallpaper with your measurements with us and pick it up here,” said Amanda.
They also carry designer clothing and accessories from House of Perna (co-owner Amanda’s company) that are exclusive and design-worthy. There are fun children’s party dresses, sequin and bomber jackets with matching pants, vegan leather and metallic pieces with grown-up design sensibility.
Megan Fabulous is one new brand A Little Wyld carries that has wonderful designer-inspired sportswear and tie-dye tops with verve and excitement. Their Grateful Dead tie-dye tank tops have lace trim and butterfly appliques. The designers at Megan Fabulous know that children and adults love material matter that is fabulous and colorful.
A Little Wyld also specializes in novelty hair accessories, sunglasses and jewelry that will make you see that creativity is limitless with spontaneous sparks of color. They have neon pink high-top sequin and satin sneakers from Lola & The Boys.
If you’re taking a family trip, A Little Wyld (whose owners both have children) knows that little ones need to have fun to be fun. That’s why they have a great assortment of art supplies, games and toys that give children the ability to become skillful artisans by just opening a kit or box. Everything is cleverly put in one place. They even have posters with colored pencils to make wall art to hang in their bedroom.
“We have something for everyone. Customers say they can spend hours here because we have so many unique things to look at,” said Skye.
Karen couldn’t agree more.
“This place is a little gem, especially when you need a gift right before a party! This adorable shop has beautiful things and a wonderful staff! Everything is unique and thoughtful. I needed items for a baby shower basket and had a hard time choosing there were so many great options.”
There are bathing suits made from plastic water bottles and clothing and accessories in recycled material, bamboo and natural fibers. The newness and novelty of some brands in the store are due to their overseas origin.
For kids on the go they have basketballs in colorful prints that will score on and off the court. Also new are retro-inspired “super cool” Banwood Bikes and helmets. You can order them now for the holidays.
Their colorful designer-inspired accessories from emerging designers will rock your world as well. They have sunglasses, gemstone geode necklaces, handbags, hats and gift items that you won’t see anywhere else.
There are also dress-up items for Halloween, costumes, and assorted hair accessories that speak their mind (in fashion lore). For the little fashionista, there are jewel-trimmed “Mermaid in Training” swim goggles.
