DOWNTOWN DELRAY BEACH: RESTAURANT MONTH

It’s September in Delray Beach, which means the start of fall, back-to-school season, and—perhaps most deliciously—Restaurant Month!

So, what exactly is Restaurant Month? As summer winds down and South Florida’s busy season hasn’t quite arrived, Delray Beach restaurants roll out special menus and offers designed to showcase some of their best dishes—and give year-round locals a great reason to dine out.

The event officially kicks off September 1 and lasts all month long. In past years, more than 50 establishments have participated, ranging from fast-casual favorites to high-end dining destinations, and 2026 is shaping up to be just as exciting. For lunch and dinner, you can typically expect prix-fixe menus featuring choices for a first course, entrée, and dessert. But this is Delray Beach, so don’t expect Restaurant Month to stop at the traditional three-course meal! Past offerings have included everything from happy hour specials and café experiences to cooking classes and other creative ways to eat, drink, and experience the local culinary scene.

Restaurant Month is also the perfect time to check out some of the newer kids on the block—or, in this case, the Avenue and beyond. Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill has only been open since January, so if you haven’t popped in yet, September could be your chance. Amar Sandwich Shop, the casual companion to Amar Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar—which is also participating—arrived in Delray in late 2025 and will be serving up specials of its own. And we can’t forget Gabriella’s Modern Italian, which has been putting its spin on classic Italian dishes since early 2025.

Of course, the classic spots we know and love aren’t sitting this one out, so expect to see plenty of longtime Delray favorites on the list. If it’s been a while since you’ve been to Deck 84, September is a perfect reason to get reacquainted with one of the city’s quintessential South Florida experiences: dining on the Intracoastal, drink in hand, with live music in the background. Speaking of live music, hometown favorite Johnnie Brown’s is on the list, giving you one more reason to grab a spot by the tracks, enjoy the tunes, and watch the action on the Avenue roll by. Just across the street, Vic & Angelo’s represents another Delray classic. With Italian favorites, a lively atmosphere, and a dining room and patio that always seem to be buzzing, it’s a longtime Atlantic Avenue staple worth revisiting.

Venture off the Ave and there’s even more to discover. La Cigale offers a blend of coastal flavors inspired by France, Greece, Italy, and Morocco, all served in a vibrant atmosphere that can make an ordinary night in Delray feel like a quick escape to the Mediterranean. Both of Chef Suzanne Perrotto’s wildly popular establishments, Brulé Bistro and—my personal favorite—Rose’s Daughter, are on this year’s list as well, showcasing her chef-driven fare, Italian influences, and unmistakable Delray charm. Another personal favorite, Papa’s Tapas, gives you a taste of Spain with authentic cuisine, refreshing sangrias, and the perfect after-dinner cortadito. ¡Olé!

Looking for something a little outside the box? Silverball Retro Arcade has you covered! Bring the kids—or just the young at heart—for food, a full bar, and a serious dose of nostalgia. Silverball is home to more than 150 retro games, including pinball machines, classic arcade games, Skee-ball, air hockey, and plenty more. It’s proof that Restaurant Month doesn’t necessarily have to mean white tablecloths and three-course dinners.

For something more casual that still brings plenty of style, check out The Standard. Its breezy, design-forward outdoor space combines food and drinks with games and activities made for getting people off their phones and into the fun. And I’d be remiss to talk about socializing without mentioning THRōW Social, where you can play giant Jenga, challenge your friends to a game of ping-pong, or simply grab a drink and take in the energy. Big Al’s will be serving up classic quick bites, while Gelato & Co. has the sweet side of the month covered with special offerings we can’t wait to see.
