DELRAY BEACH FIRE RESCUE CAPTAIN JOSEPH FALCONE HONORED WITH 2026 FFCA SAFETY AND HEALTH AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

Delray Beach Fire Rescue Captain Joseph Falcone has been named the 2026 recipient of the Florida Fire Chiefs’ Association (FFCA) Safety and Health Award of Excellence, honoring nearly 25 years of leadership and dedication to firefighter safety, health and wellness.

Over the course of his career, Falcone has led efforts to advance firefighter cancer prevention and exposure reduction, physical fitness and readiness, behavioral health and peer support. His leadership has helped embed firefighter health and wellness into the department’s culture. Through education, coaching, leadership and the creation of peer support resources, he has fostered an environment where prevention is emphasized, and firefighters are encouraged to seek help and support when needed.

“Captain Falcone’s commitment to the health, safety and well-being of our firefighters is truly exceptional,” said Delray Beach Fire Rescue Chief Ronald Martin. “For nearly 25 years, he has been a leader in recognizing that protecting firefighters means more than responding to emergencies. His efforts have made a difference in the lives of our members and in the culture of our department.”
