Teen-led nonprofit Cereal4All again rallied the community to support Boca Helping Hands (BHH). Founded by 18-year-old Boca Raton twins Jett and Luke Justin, its annual Spring Cereal Drive collected 11,079 pounds of cereal for underserved families.
Founded as a soup kitchen in 1998, BHH provided more than 3.5 million meals in 2025. The organisation gives a “hand up” to people struggling to make ends meet, offering stability and reassurance about their next meal.
Few foods support that mission better than cereal. BHH provides grocery-filled pantry bags to families at or below the poverty line, and cereal is an ideal addition. The Justin brothers founded Cereal4All after volunteering at BHH and seeing that breakfast foods are among the most needed, yet least donated, items at food banks.
“My brother and I learned about the breakfast food shortage in 2016 while volunteering in the warehouse at Boca Helping Hands, and it had a major effect on us because, like most young people, we love cereal,” said Jett Justin. “Cereal is about breakfast, but it’s also about starting the day with a sense of normalcy and happiness. It bothered us that so many families were missing out on that, so we started Cereal4All to help fill that gap.”
“Part of our mission is to also get more young people active in the fight against hunger, and cereal has a special way of doing that,” said Luke Justin. “The connection students have with cereal makes the empty bowls of others feel personal and motivates them to get involved.”
Today, Cereal4All partners with more than 175 schools and 95 food banks in 22 states, as well as Toronto and the Bahamas, through the twins’ self-piloted “Oatmeal Airlift” missions. The organisation has delivered more than 800,000 bowls’ worth of cereal and over $400,000 in breakfast food, while inspiring thousands of students to volunteer in the fight against hunger.
